Loyalty

It matters not one jot which way one swings in the amazing happenings of the last week in Westminster, the one thing that is missing in all the comings and goings is the little matter of Loyalty.
Prehaps it is the old fashioned way but all during my working life i was taught even if you disagreed with your friends, workmates, bosses everybody stood together and backed eachother up even if you had your doubts.
The spineless Labour mps cannot even back their leader, all of the are "looking after nos one". No cabinet responsibility , no sense of being responsibility, no resignations. In the past politicians resigned even if they were not directly responsible for "the mistake" but felt that it was "on their watch" The resignations of the past week shows this, they did not resign over policy just pure lust after a better job or to keep their seats at the next General Election, (rats leaving the sinking ship).
Least they forget the public does not easily forgive and will have their revenge shortly . There are exceptions of course,Vince Cable amongst them who had come from a business background whereas a lot of the "expenses " mps have come straight from uni, to be political researchers, assistants and then slotted into being an mp.
Why not try a different system run the government from the civil service with independant mps or have a coalition government of all the talents.

Fred the Dragon

My pottery mad dragon whose name was fred
Lived in a cave, but worked best in his shed.
He travelled all over both north and south
firing up his kiln with the aid of his mouth.
His business went well till the credit crunch came,
now fred the dragon has gone,
its such a bally shame.
